600 run outs by Australians

Saturday, October 3, 2009

When England last batsman Graham Onions run out during the ICC Champions Trophy semi final on Friday it was 600th victim of run out against Australia in the history of One Day International. This was Australia’s 719th ODI and Onions was 5550th wicket for Australia. So the Oz have taken 10.81% of there total wicket by run out.
Naturally Australians are very agile in the fielding but still this is not world record. There were 614 batsmen ran out themselves against India. So India is on top of the table so far made run out the rivals is concern and India’s percentage (12.71) is also high in comparison to Australia. However my friend Nikhilesh argues Australian bowlers are not giving that much chance to their fielder and statistics are also favors Nikhilesh ‘s argument.
Australian bowlers have taken more then 1000 wickets as BOWLED and 3171 wickets as CAUGHT.
Here are the details of how the teams have taken wickets as run out. (more then 100 run outs only)

Pakistan (569)
West Indies (510)
Sri Lanka (492)
