Chennai: Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh's return will strengthen the Indian squad against the formidable Australians in the seven-match one-day series, chairman of national selection panel Krishnamachari Srikkanth said today.

Sehwag and Yuvraj missed the Champions Trophy in South Africa due to their respective injuries.

Dravid dropped, Sehwag comes back for Australia series

Srikkanth hoped the team will yet again do well against Australia in the series, starting October 25.

"I am happy that we have named a balanced squad. Sehwag and Yuvraj have returned to the squad. They will strengthen the squad.

"For the last few years we have been doing well in bilateral series. I am confident that the team will do well against Australia," Srikkanth said after the selection committee meeting.

Yuvraj, who is still recuperating from a fractured finger, was included in the squad with the hope that he will be completely fit by October 28 for the second one-dayer in Nagpur and might as well be available for the first one-dayer on October 25 in Vadodara.

Sehwag has already recovered from his shoulder injury and is currently playing in the Champions League Twenty20.
