Women’s boxing team brings home gold

India won two gold medals in the women’s boxing at the Asian Indoor Games on Wednesday. One, after a tough fight between MC Mary Kom (India) and Hoa Nguyen Thi (Vietnam) in the 46 kg category and the other between Kavita Goyat (India) and Khassenova Saida (Kazhakstan) in the 64 kg category. Apart from the two, L Sarita Devi and N Usha bagged silver medals in the 54 kg and 57 kg category, respectively. Sarita lost to Zhang Qin of China and had to settle for the silver. Similarly Usha lost to Laopeam Peamwilai of Thailand. W Sandhyarani brought home the bronze medal after losing the semi-finals to Maryam Tavakoli (Iran) in the 56 kg group.
