ICC Champions Trophy 2004: The Browne and Bradshaw show
Tuesday, October 13, 2009
Marcus Trescothick (81) and Michael Vaughan (86) starred as England beat Australia at Edgbaston to reach their first major one-day final since 1992. Meanwhile, West Indies ran through Pakistan for 131 at the Rose Bowl and Ramnaresh Sarwan saw them home with 56 not out. Hopes of a home victory in the final at The Oval were high when England were bowled out for 217 and then reduced the Windies to 147-8 with 16 overs left. But the unlikely Barbados tail-end pairing ofwicketkeeper Courtney Browne and paceman Ian Bradshaw added 71 together to earn the Caribbean side a memorable win.
